We are looking for Procurement/Project Controller to join our team at ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany.

You are going to support the project management in the implementation of their industrial and ESA internal activities, in accordance with the approved budget and in agreement with the established administration processes and the ESA contractual and financial regulations, and in the preparation of plans and reports concerning the project aspects i.e. cost, schedule, documentation, technical progress of the work, with the aim to provide full visibility on all activities related to resources.

Responsibilities
As a Procurement/Project Controller, your tasks will typically include:

  • Preparation and maintenance of programme and project cost-at­completions.
  • Support in the ESA procurement process.
  • Support in the preparation of project management plans.
  • Maintenance of the structure and contents of project related documentation in the Directorate’s document management system.
  • Ensuring consistency between the Work Breakdown Structures and the Planning and the Programme/Project/Internal budgets.
  • Implementation of control procedures and planning to provide full visibility on all Programme/project related technical, contractual, and managerial activities.
  • Contributions to the annual ESA Controlling Work Plan and the financial asset management process.
  • Identification of problem areas and proposal of remedial actions and re-planning as required.
  • Preparation of ESA management reports (e.g., manpower, cost, schedule, industrial return, and technical progress of the work).

This is a full-time position to be located at ESOC’s premises in Darmstadt with the planned start date as soon as possible.

Qualifications & Competencies
You shall have a university degree and experience as Project Controller in an European Organization, with strong preference in Public Organizations.

Ideally you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Dealing with complex relationship.
  • Self-initiative.
  • Working under pressure.
  • Able to work in a team.
  • Learning by doing.
  • Very organized and structured way considering strong interaction with customers.
  • Good judgement, sense of negotiation and communication.
  • Very good view of the project control disciplines, preferably in the aerospace industry.
  • Participation in TEBs.
  • Shopping carts, contracts, GRNs.
  • OPS-B currently Staff & Contractors (OPS-BP Project Control & OPS-BC Cpst Centre Control.
  • Customers: SCI, EOP, HRE, 3rd Party & SSA.
  • IT tools:
  • MS-Office
  • ERP based system including Esa-p
  • Tableau (Datalake)
  • EROS (GEO return tool)
  • Esastar (esa system for tendering and registration)
  • PFMS – Planning and Management Forecasting system
  • TEAMS/Webex
  • CMYP (Corporate planning tool)

Fluency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory. You will have the capability to work in teams, while at the same time being a self-starter, able to work independently with little supervision.

Due to the variety of the tasks and the scope of the systems to be supported, you should be able to quickly adapt to changes in assignments, manage tasks in an efficient way, and demonstrate a high degree of independence and autonomy. You must have excellent analytical skills, and be effective working within a small team, and have good presentation and communication skills.

You should be able to conduct all your activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, encouraging a friendly and collaborative working environment, demonstrating capabilities in applying principles, handling critical discourse, and be open to discussing and sharing solutions with others. Moreover, you must be able to participate actively in technical meetings and/or formal reviews and activity assessments.
